Piedmont School Voucher 2026: new income limits and support
The Piedmont School Voucher 2026 introduces higher ISEE income thresholds, updated financial support and more inclusive access criteria in Italy. The reform aims to help more families manage rising education costs. Changes approved by the Piedmont Regional Government are now waiting for final confirmation from the Regional Council. As a result, more students could gain access to support for school-related expenses starting from the next academic year.
Piedmont School Voucher 2026 for private schools
The Voucher A scheme is designed for families enrolling children in Italian private state-recognised schools, known as scuole paritarie. Financial aid will help cover enrolment and attendance costs. One of the main updates is the increase of the ISEE threshold up to 30,000 euros. Consequently, a larger number of households may qualify for the contribution. Support amounts will vary according to family income and school level. High school students may receive up to 2,150 euros. In addition, students with disabilities will benefit from a 50% increase in the contribution. Regional authorities also confirmed that this voucher may be combined with other Italian State education contributions linked to the same purpose. Therefore, eligible families could access broader financial support.
Support for books and transport
The Voucher B measure focuses on everyday study expenses. Families may use the contribution for textbooks, school materials and public transport subscriptions. Additional educational activities are also included among eligible expenses. Moreover, the measure applies to students attending state schools, private state-recognised schools and vocational education programmes in Italy. Updated ISEE thresholds will align with the criteria used for the national scholarship programme IoStudio. The maximum contribution available under this measure reaches 500 euros. Students with disabilities may also receive a 50% increase under Voucher B. In this case, the reform aims to improve equal access to education support across different income groups.
Why the reform matters
Demand for financial support linked to school expenses has grown significantly in recent years. For this reason, the Piedmont School Voucher 2026 reform was introduced to reflect the changing economic needs of families in Italy. According to the regional education department, strengthening these measures represents an investment in the future of students across Piedmont. At the same time, the initiative is intended to reinforce equal access to education regardless of economic background. If the Regional Council approves the final measures, the updated Piedmont School Voucher 2026 could become available from the next school year and extend support to many more families.
