At present, about 13,000 student loans<\/strong> are certified each year in Italy. However, the potential market is estimated to range between 300,000 and 400,000 beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many university students are there in Italy?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Against this backdrop, the potential demand is significant: in 2025 Italy counts roughly 1.9 million university students overall <\/strong>[Source: USTAT, giugno 2025<\/a>], including 341,000 new enrollments<\/strong> for the 2024\u20132025 academic year\u2014an increase of 5.3% compared to the previous year [Fonte: Censis\/Anagrafe Nazionale Studenti Universitari, luglio 2025]. These figures highlight the existence of a growing pool of potential beneficiaries that remains largely untapped by the credit market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2024\u20132025 academic year alone, more than \u20ac370 million were disbursed in personal loans dedicated to school, university, and training, with demand rising by 15% compared to the previous year.<\/strong>

CRIF data point to further growth in 2025: an 8% increase in average loan amounts<\/strong> and an 11.4% rise in personal loans<\/strong>, which now average \u20ac12,201.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Opportunities Through the \u201cFondo per lo Studio\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A strong signal of the market\u2019s maturity comes from the Fondo per lo Studio<\/em> managed by CONSAP, which guarantees up to 70% of the loan value. A new decree, currently pending approval, is expected to raise maximum loan amounts and simplify procedures for students both in Italy and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
